Pisgah Gourmet is a mushroom cultivation business that rests on top of 6.5 acres of green hillside located in Brevard, NC. We primarily focus on Oyster, Lion's Mane and Shiitake mushrooms but offer other varieties seasonally. Founded by Eric Christianson in 2015, the business began cultivating mushrooms outdoors on logs.
Cloned from the wild in western North Carolina, Pisgah Gourmet mushroom cultures are also sourced from around the globe. Whereas it once took 12 to 18 months to produce a mushroom, they can now be grown in as little as three weeks.
Fresh mushrooms are picked, sliced and dehydrated which can preserve their quality for an entire year. Dried mushrooms are exceptionally versatile and can be paired with almost any kind of meat or vegetable.
